Open Letter to The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

Dear Commissioner Vasan:

New York City-based Medical Freedom Alliance—along with its political division, the Medical Freedom Party—is dedicated to bringing some measure of sanity and reason, informed with solid science, to New York City’s public health policies. We are New Yorkers who care deeply about our children’s health and well-being. As such, we are concerned about the New York City Health Department’s policy of recommending that children as young as 6-months old be injected with the experimental covid mRNA vaccines1, which we find shockingly unsupported, irresponsible, dishonest and likely criminal.

You state categorically, without any evidence to support your claims, that these injections are “effective” and “the best way to protect your child and family from covid-19”, whereas there has never been any evidence that these “vaccines” prevent infection or spread of the disease, and even the pharmaceutical companies producing them have said only that they would prevent “severe disease”, not prevent infection or spread. In fact, Deborah Birx, White House Corona Virus Response Coordinator from February 2020 to January 2021, has publicly admitted that this was known from the beginning and that the President and public were intentionally misled.2

In addition, the unsupported claims that the shots prevent serious illness and death are rapidly falling apart. Current data, especially from countries that keep more reliable and honest records than the US, such as England, Scotland and Israel, are showing that not only are these injections not effective at protecting people from contracting covid or being hospitalized or dying, they are showing negative effectiveness, that is, they are making people more likely to be infected, hospitalized and to die.3 4 5

You also tell parents that vaccines are the best way to protect their children, while giving absolutely no advice about how they can keep their children’s immune systems robust and healthy through diet, exercise and making sure they have adequate levels of vitamin D. Shouldn’t it be the NYC Health Department’s job to inform New Yorkers of natural ways we can maintain good health, rather than simply to repeat pharmaceutical companies’ advertising slogans?

Even more disturbing is your unsupported assertion that these products are “safe”, when there is no evidence to support such a claim and mounting evidence that they are in fact extremely dangerous. These injections put children at serious risk for, among other things, myocarditis, pericarditis, blood clots, strokes, and even death. A recent study has shown 29% of vaccinated children show evidence of heart damage.6 7 8

You state on the website that the vaccines “were thoroughly studied in children six months to four years old and shown to be very safe and effective.” However experts have expressed shock at the slipshod and dishonest “study” presented by the drug companies to the FDA, more children contracted covid in the vaccine group than in the placebo group, and several FDA officials have resigned in disgust.9 10 At least one country has banned the shots for children under 18.11 12

The truth is that the injection has produced widespread and serious adverse events. Even though various analyses of VAERS show that events are seriously underreported and may reflect less than 1% of actual adverse events13 14, just the numbers of serious events and deaths actually reported through VAERS are staggering. As of July 29, VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System), reports 139 deaths, 485 permanent disabilities, and 1,872 cases of myocarditis for children 6 months to 17 years old.15

Dr Jessica Rose, an expert in VAERS data, has shown that according to the Bradford-Hill criteria, VAERS qualifies as showing causation.16 At the very least, VAERS gives a strong signal requiring serious investigation.17 Despite this, although they are required by the Emergency Use Authorization to closely monitor this experimental pharmaceutical product for adverse events and risks, the CDC admits in response to a recent Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request that it has not monitored VAERS for safety signals.18

VAERS is just one of several systems reporting serious problems with these injections. Whistleblowers have reported that since the rollout of the covid vaccines, there have been large increases in many serious conditions in the DMED and CMS (Department of Defense and Medicare-Medicaid) databases. None of the data from DMED and CMS has voluntarily been shared with the public, making any claims by the CDC or FDA as to safety untrustworthy to say the least. 19

You claim that “even if your child has been sick with COVID-19 in the past” s/he should be vaccinated, despite the well-established fact that immunity acquired through natural infection is strong and enduring,20 21while previously infected individuals are more likely to suffer serious side-effects from the injections.

It is well established that children are at extremely low risk from this disease, and even if infected rarely get very sick. In the United States, no healthy child who was not already suffering from severe comorbidities, such as late stage cancer or severe diabetes, has died with covid. The CDC has admitted that most children who were claimed to have been hospitalized for covid entered the hospital for other reasons, such as a broken leg or tonsillectomy, and simply tested positive by the unreliable PCR test while in the hospital. The actual risk of death for children, in the unlikely event they even get sick with covid, is 0.0027, that is, 99.9973% survive.22

Given the effectively zero risk from covid for children, how can you possibly justify a recommendation for children to get the covid experimental mRNA injection, much less a mandate, when by the CDC’s own admission it doesn’t prevent infection or stop the spread and the risk of serious adverse events is huge?

Recommendations for medical treatments and procedures are always a risk-benefit analysis. It is clear from the facts that the risk/benefit ratio of vaccinating children is ALL RISK and NO BENEFIT.

Yet despite the mountains of evidence of serious harm from these injections, your advice to parents about side effects is horrendously inadequate, listing only arm soreness, headache or fever, and feeling tired or achy, and calling these symptoms “signs the body is building protection”. You also claim that “serious side effects are very rare and the risks from COVID-19 are far greater”. Neither of these assertions is even remotely true: 29% of vaccinated children with heart damage is NOT rare. An infection fatality rate from covid of 0.0027 is hardly a greater risk than the adverse events from the injections.

The Nuremberg Code, which has been incorporated into US and NYS law, requires the voluntary, informed consent of subjects in a medical experiment (and these injections are part of an experiment that will not be completed until 2023 at the earliest), which requires they be fully informed to make an enlightened and informed decision, “without any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion”.23 Your website does not come close to meeting these requirements. Parents cannot possibly weigh the risks and benefits of these injections based on what is published there (and obviously, babies and young children cannot do so in any event).

Given these facts, we demand that the New York City Health Department immediately:

Halt the deceptive and irresponsible practice of pressuring parents to inject their children with these experimental, ineffective and dangerous injections;
Cease and desist from its aggressive advertising of these injections to children;
Undertake a serious investigation into the damage these vaccines have already caused among New Yorkers;
Develop a plan to help victims of vaccine injuries heal and give them restitution for the suffering they have experienced;
Include complete, unbiased information about valid, well-researched treatments and natural, “tried and true” ways to maintain good health.

There is no rational reason or any moral or ethical justification in continuing to endanger healthy children who would be far better off if they were left alone by the pharmaceutical industry and its cynical, overbearing allies in government and mass media.

We expect your response to this letter and the action steps listed above by September 7, 2022.
